The charismatic four piece girl group ANGEL22 has shared a new single to usher a new era. “Olvidar” is a club ready, rhythmic heavy yet melodic banger, showcasing the girls’ ability to rise the room’s temperature and get the party turnt up. Written by the four members of the band (Sofía, Laura, Wendii, and Alondra), as well as Elena Rose, Nate Campany, SpreadLOF, Kyle Shearer, and Hector Mazzarri; and produced by Mazzarri with the duo Valley Girl, “Olvidar” is an early candidate for song of the summer. About the song, ANGEL22 declares: "With ‘Olvidar’ (‘To Forget’), we strive to show a more mature and sensual side of ANGEL22. [The song] is influenced by Jersey club, trap, and reggaeton, and through these melodies and harmonies we found the perfect medium to create a unique sound for a girl group. We want our listeners to forget about the negative feelings when they listen to this song. ‘Olvidar’ invites you to forget that person that hurt you, have fun, and enjoy your friendships in this new phase where you will be putting yourself first.”
The video sees ANGEL22 take roles we have never seen before. Dressed in sexy outfits while surrounded by cars, the four piece group give us choreographed steps as well as perreo to get the song’s message of escapism and seduction across just right.
Previously, ANGEL22 shared their single “Para Ti No”, an empowering rhythmic ballad for those seeking strength through vulnerable times featuring a smooth sound that strives to soothe the soul while keeping a dembow beat courtesy of producer duo Valley Girl. It was accompanied by a video that focused on their choreographed steps and each members’ charisma.
Originally formed as V5 and competing in UK’s X-Factor: Celebrity contest, ANGEL22 brings us four influencers chasing a dream of artistic glory. Sofia Oliveira (Brazil), Laura Buitrago (Colombia), Wendii Sarmiento (Cuba), Alondra Martinez (Puerto Rico/Dominican Republic) have eagerly joined their musical aspirations and given us a fresh new sound. Making their name through social media, ANGEL22 debuted with “Free Hugs” and have since released a number of singles to ever increasing number of listeners and plays. Becky G has become a fan and mentor of the four-piece group.
